Firewood
Firewood is an essential component of many outdoor activities, including camping, bonfires, and outdoor cooking. Our firewood is harvested from fallen or removed trees on jobs we perform. We do not cut or split wood but instead provide uncut unsplit logs delivered to you for free. This helps us dispose of logs from projects we perform without having to pay a dump fee. We can save our customers money and provide free firewood to the residents of Albamarle county!
Wood Chips
Wood chips are an excellent option for landscaping, pathways, and playgrounds. They are perfect for suppressing weeds, controlling erosion, and adding aesthetic value to your property. Our wood chips are made from the wood and branches from trees we work on, making them an eco-friendly, sustainable option for your landscape.

How Pricing Works
At Cox’s Tree Service, we strive to provide our customers with affordable and transparent pricing for all of our services, including our Wood and wood chips. Fortunately this is a free service intended to benefit both parties.
For firewood, please remember that we do not cut or split wood. The wood we deliver will be whole large logs. You will need to have a location for us to pull in and unload a large truck. You will then need to have the ability to process the logs into firewood yourself.
When discussing your location with us please let us how how large of a log you are able to handle. Are you able to use pine in an outdoor woodstove? The more flexible you are with type and size of wood the more wood we can bring.
We also deliver wood chips for free. Since this is a free service we are not able to offer specific delivery times. When our trucks are full we find the nearest location and send the truck that way.
Our trucks are big and hold between 20-40 cubic yards of wood chips. When contacting us to get on our “Chip List” please give clear instruction as to where you would like the chips dumped. Make sure there is enough room for a large dump truck and that there are not obstructions such as overhead wires, buried tanks, or tight turns. If you are unsure if your location will work give us a call anyway. We will swing by and take a look.
