Cox’s Tree Service began in 2000 with the creative genius of Paul Cox, founder and inventor of the Wraptor, an innovative, industry-changing motorized ascender for tree climbers. His legacy of creative problem-solving lives on in the current ownership by sister company Staunton Tree Service.

Staunton Tree Service was the first tree care service in Augusta County to purchase and operate their own crane for hazardous and complicated tree removals, so they were a natural fit to take on the large-scale equipment already used by Paul Cox to safely and efficiently remove trees that other companies cannot
tackle.

The current ownership also brings 25 years of greens industry and tree service experience by ISA Certified Arborist Kris Schmandt (MA-5559A). We are excited to once again be able to offer the Charlottesville and Albemarle area a full range of tree services including large and small removals, pruning, plant healthcare and stump grinding.
